INDIE SLACKER MOVIE 'WAH DO DEM' SET FOR 27 AUGUST UK CINEMA RELEASE 07/07/2010

"A slacker's odyssey. " Time Out. "Moving and hilarious" The Times. Part of the Official Selection for the London Film Festival, winner of Best Film at the LA Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the Reggae Film Festival and winner of Best Film at the Spokanne Film Festival, Network Releasing is delighted to announce the UK cinema release of slacker road movie "WAH DO DEM" on 27th August 2010 at selected cinemas across the UK. Starring Sean Bones, Norah Jones, Carl Bradshaw and Kevin Bewersdorf the film also features a sublime indie and reggae centric soundtrack from Sean Bones, MGMT, Yeasayer, Santigold, Mykal Rose, Mr Lexx and The Congos.

In "WAH DO DEM", young Brooklyn musician Max (Sean Bones) wins tickets to go on a Caribbean cruise but is forced to go alone when his girlfriend Willow (Norah Jones) dumps him out of the blue just two days before the voyage. Once in Jamaica, Max quickly escapes the tourist zone for more "authentic" surroundings and in the process is robbed of his possessions and is stranded, literally missing the boat. As Max sets out for the American Embassy in Kingston on foot, Jamaica is waiting to meet him with unexpected and extraordinary encounters, including a full-moon celebration with the legendary reggae group The Congos, and a dreamy stay with a Rasta prophet (Carl Bradshaw, The Harder They Come).

"WAH DO DEM" is written and directed by Ben Chace and Sam Fleischner.
