NETWORK RELEASING PICKS UP ALL UK RIGHTS TO JULIE DELPY’S '2 DAYS IN NEW YORK' 08/12/2011

Network Releasing has inked a deal for all UK rights to Julie Delpy’s 2 DAYS IN NEW YORK. The film was acquired in a deal with REZO and is the sequel to 2 DAYS IN PARIS, which was released in 2007. This time Chris Rock stars alongside Julie Delpy in a hilarious relationship comedy where different cultures clash, with the location moving to “The Big Apple”.  The film will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January and then be released in the UK in Spring 2012.

Marion (Delpy) has split up with Jack and now lives with her partner Mingus (Rock) and their child. But when her French family come to visit the US and decide to bring one of her ex-boyfriends along, she is unprepared for the chaos that will ensue as she contends with juggling her personal life with a forthcoming photo exhibition.

As before, Deply writes, directs and stars in the sequel to 2 DAYS IN PARIS. Commented Delpy, "It's about the difficulty of relationships but also about the main character's evolution in general. It's a very modern story about the complexities of being a woman and not being completely consumed by your partner.” Other members of the cast include Vincent Gallo and Delpy’s real father, Albert.

The deal was negotiated between Tim Beddows Managing Director from Network and Sebastien Chesneau, Head of International Sales at REZO. Managing Director Tim Beddows of Network Releasing commented, “2 DAYS IN NEW YORK is a great relationship comedy which we have been tracking for some time. This pre-sale deal was a logical progression for us as we look to bring a wider range of independent film properties to the UK to a wider audience.”
